What is the best location for our beach session?

Beach sessions are my favorite, and I know all of the best locations! Though you may be tempted to have a session within walking distance of where you are staying, it may not be the best location for several reasons. In your booking questionnaire you can let me know which city you are staying in, I can then reach out and suggest some of my favorite locations.

Why are all the beach sessions at night?

Beach sessions are shot at golden hour, which is during that last hour before sunset.As a mom, I get it. Bed time is not to be messed with. However, it is a sacrifice that is worth making for one night, in order to have the most beautiful light during your session. The beach is completely void of shade, so shooting any earlier than golden hour will result in harsh shadows and squinting eyes in all of your images. I suggest making sure children get a good nap that day, avoiding a full beach day. Also, feel free to bring a tiny snack during the session. I suggest a bag of M&M's that you hide until they become necessary. Sometimes a good bribe is what we need to get us through!

What should we wear for our photoshoot?

Great question! This is important as I can take a wonderful photo, but if you are unhappy with your outfits, you will likely be unhappy with your images. The two main things to remember: 1. The water, sky and crests are white and blue. When you dress in white and blue, you blend into the background. 2. Choose 3-4 colors and mix them up with all the members of your family. A mix of solids and patterns is great but avoid thin stripes as they do not photograph well. Avoid black and neon colors. Pale muted tones are best for the beach. Do I need to know how to pose and send you inspiration photos?

I have a very good idea how to pose you and your family, and it comes pretty natural during your session. I shoot both playful candids and posed shots during your session, so please be prepared for letting the kids play to get those genuine happy smiles. Inspirational photos are not needed.

What happens if it rains?

Weather is my number one anxiety as it's completely unpredictable at the ocean. I am aware that most of my clients are visiting our lovely seashores for a short period of time, so it's a very small window when I can fit you in. I always suggest booking your session earlier on during your stay, in case we need to reschedule for rain (and before those sunburns hit). I do not schedule rain dates, as I am shooting almost every night during the summer months. With that being said, I do follow the most reliable weather app, and I keep my day time schedule open. If it looks like we will definitely have rain, but its a cloudy dry day, I can move your session time or date if there is one available. I ask that my clients are available for texts on the day of your session, in order to coordinate weather issues. In the last 8 years I have only had to cancel and refund 2 sessions for weather related issues.

How many photos will I receive?

The package that you choose will determine how many images you receive. Additional images can be added for an additional fee of $30/image. There is a discount given for choosing the entire gallery.

When and how will I receive my preview images?

Your preview images will be emailed to you within 48 hours of your session. You will then have 2 weeks to choose your images that you would like edited.

When and how will I receive my final images?

Your final images will be sent to your email in an online gallery, within 4 weeks after you have made your final selections.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations are sometimes unavoidable. If a cancellation is made 48 hours before the session time, the session can be rescheduled within 6 months. There is also a $50 rebooking fee, which will be added to the final payment. A second cancellation voids the down payment. All downpayments are nonrefundable.
